The Transformation of the Sanctuary
You may well have noticed that building work has started at TWBC. This page is designed to let you know what is going on behind the doors and a bit about our longer term plan.
We have a large, beautiful space and we want to continue to make it a place of encounter – with God and with one another. A place of safety and peace. A place of inspiration and worship. A place of fellowship and family. A place that gives us a real opportunity to welcome, host and serve our community.
WHAT HAD WE ALREADY DONE?
Ten years ago, we began slowly transforming our building and in that time we have built a new and extended kitchen, disabled access, baby changing facilities, seven new roofs, double-glazed windows throughout as well as other essential yet hidden work such as rewiring and asbestos removal.

WHAT HAS CHANGED?
A better experience
Relocation of the sound, vision and lighting desks to a new groundfloor workstation for improved monitoring and management of all audio visuals. A new and better positioned projector screen, better more consistent sound and brighter more consistent lighting throughout the sanctuary and more reliable heating.
King David said of building the temple, “The task is great, because this structure is not for man but for the Lord God.” 1 Chronicles 29 v 1
We too know that our task is great, but now is the time for the transformation of the sanctuary – not just a tidy up and make do – but a solid commitment for us as a church to significantly invest in this space, to update and enhance it, whilst preserving the best of its inherent beauty and original design.
