Emmanuel Baptist Church, Chisineau Cris
Some of our members here at TWBC first went to Romania just after Ceausescu had been overthrown in 1990, following a visit from a Romanian pastor, Emile Bartos, who gave an insight into life under the dictator. Greatly moved, we wanted to give encouragement as well as food and clothing to our brothers and sisters in Christ, and set off with two loaded trailers. We came back totally blessed by them and feeling privileged to have met some very special people.
Returning back to TWBC, we set about raising money for the purchase of land to build a church in Chisineau Cris.
Later a church in Cardiff joined in this effort. Funds have been raised on a number of occasions to supply medication and medical equipment for folk needing ongoing treatment. A choir came from Romania and members of TWBC sponsored their visit.
Recently friends have contributed to the support of an Assistant Pastor doing outreach work in the villages where there is no pastor. After 7 or 8 visits, we returned this autumn to help celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the opening of the church building.
